The International Piano Quartet was founded in 1998 by two prize-winning piano teams of the Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition, the Bergmann Piano Duo (Canada/Germany) and the Piano Duo Van Veen (Holland). The four pianists began their work together in preparation for a Stravinsky Festival held at Florida International University in Miami.
